Skin Priming

The canvas must be perfected before the artistry begins

Exfoliation & Grooming:

Shower, shave, and exfoliate 48 to 24 hours prior to the reservation. Two consecutive days of exfoliation are recommended rather than one. Use an oil free exfoliator only, concentrating on dry areas such as the elbows, knees, and feet.

The "No-Dove" Mandate:

Strictly avoid commercial brands such as Dove, as they leave a film that compromises pigment adhesion and tan longevity.

Hydration:

Maintain skin integrity by moisturising daily in the week leading up to the appointment. Internal hydration is equally vital; ensure ample water intake and limit caffeine or alcohol consumption.

Priming Window:

Discontinue showers 12 hours prior to the appointment. Shaving or showering too close to the application can dilate pores and alter the skin’s pH, negatively affecting the development of the solution.

Clean Canvas:

Ensure the skin is entirely free of all products 12 hours prior to the reservation. This includes lotions, deodorant, make-up, perfumes, and oils. Please remove all jewellery.

Chemical Pause:

Discontinue the use of Retinol or AHAs one week prior to the reservation.

The Appointment

Consultation:

Each session begins with a review of the skin profile to confirm the desired depth of the glow or silhouette contouring.

Attire:

Please wear dark, oversized loungewear and open toed slides or sandals. Avoid restrictive clothing including bras, leggings, denim, or trainers as friction will disrupt the uniform development of the pigment. (Signature Kimonos are available for purchase via the Boutique).

Provisions:

To ensure a flawless result, the treatment includes a luxury selection of essentials: a professional pH-Balancing solution, disposable sole guards, barrier protection, hair nets, and disposable undergarments.

Discretion:

Comfort and technical perfection are the absolute priorities of every reservation. Clients are invited to choose their preferred level of coverage during the application.

Development

Allowing the formulation to develop into its radiant form

Water Neutrality:

Avoid all water exposure including; perspiration, steam, or rain, until the designated rinse time.

Evolution Period:

Allow the solution to develop for the duration agreed upon during the consultation.

"No-Touch" Protocol:

Avoid skin-to-skin contact while the tan is developing. To prevent stained palms, do not rest hands on the body or allow pets to lick the skin.

Initial Rinse:

Perform a lukewarm water rinse only. Do not use soaps, scrubs, or loofahs. The objective is a "speedy" rinse until the water runs clear. If streaks are visible post shower, briefly return to the water and use the hands to gently guide the residual bronzer away.

Preservation

Protecting the longevity and lustre of the signature glow

Drying Technique:

Always pat dry with a soft towel; never rub the skin.

Preservation & Hydration:

Prolong the life of the glow (typically 7–15 days) by moisturising twice daily with a natural, mineral oil free lotion.

Boutique Selection:

To mirror the clinical integrity of the treatment, the Signature Luxury Tan Extender and Hydrator (£60) is designed to work in synergy with the bespoke formulation. Please enquire prior to the reservation to ensure availability and personal delivery during the appointment.

Avoid:

Avoid mass market formulations containing high fragrances or mineral oils, as these will prematurely dissolve the tan.

Environmental Factors:

Chlorine, salt water, extended baths, and excessive perspiration are natural exfoliants. To maintain the glow, take brief, lukewarm showers rather than long, hot baths.

UV Protection:

Always apply SPF. A spray tan provides a visual glow but offers no biological protection against UV rays.

How long will my spray tan last?

On average, the tan will maintain its perfection for 7 to 15 days. With the application of My Signature specialised extenders, this can be preserved for up to 20 days. Longevity depends on unique skin chemistry and adherence to the curated Glow Guide.

Note: Hormonal shifts or certain medications can occasionally influence the depth of development.

What are the spatial requirements for a mobile session?

To provide a seamless, professional experience, a discreet area with access to a power outlet and natural light is required. The professional tanning booth stands at 2m in height and is engineered to be non invasive, ensuring the interior remains pristine while the bespoke glow is curated.

Is there a risk of an unnatural "orange" tone?

No.

Your tanning solution is selected to complement your natural skin tone and undertones, creating a healthy looking, believable glow.

The aim is for people to notice YOU, not your spray tan.

Why do I look darker immediately after my appointment?

Immediately afterwards you'll see both your developing tan and the cosmetic guide colour.

During your first rinse, the guide colour washes away, revealing a softer, beautifully natural result underneath.

Is my tan washing away in the shower?

No.

The brown colour you see during your first rinse is simply the cosmetic guide colour being washed away.

Your developed tan remains within the outer layer of your skin.

When should I have my first shower?

Your personalised rinse time will always be discussed during your appointment.

Following this advice allows your tan to develop exactly as intended.

Can I moisturise afterwards?

Yes.

The secret to longevity is deep, consistent hydration. Once you've completed your first rinse, moisturising every morning and evening with a natural, mineral oil free lotion, is one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy and encourage a longer lasting, more even fade.

Can I exercise?

Absolutely.

Simply wait until you've completed your first rinse.

Heavy perspiration during the development period may affect your result.

Can I swim?

Yes.

Swimming won't remove your tan immediately, but frequent exposure to chlorine or salt water may shorten its lifespan.

Rinsing afterwards and moisturising your skin will help maintain your glow.

Can I shave?

Yes.

Shaving gently exfoliates the skin, so colour may fade slightly faster in shaved areas.

Using a fresh razor and moisturising afterwards will help keep your tan looking its best.

How is my appointment different from a salon visit?

Every reservation takes place within the privacy of your own residence, with the full luxury provisioning of the atelier brought to you.

I have sensitive skin. Can I still have a spray tan?

Many clients with sensitive skin enjoy professional spray tanning.

Can I have a spray tan while pregnant?

Many clients choose to continue spray tanning during pregnancy.

If you're pregnant, please mention this during your consultation.

Can I have a spray tan over tattoos?

Yes.

A professional spray tan won't affect healed tattoos and often enhances their appearance by creating a more even-looking skin tone.

Which products Should I avoid post-tanning?

To protect your investment, avoid formulas containing mineral oils, sulphates, or concentrated alcohol. It is recommended to avoid mass market brands such as Dove or Olay.
